0508 numbers: who called me?
Free to call
0508 numbers are New Zealand freephone numbers, used in the same way as 0800.
What 0508 means
0508 is a second freephone prefix. Calls are free for the caller, and the business or organisation pays. Companies that could not get a memorable 0800 number often use 0508 instead.
As with other freephone numbers, the prefix does not show where the caller is. Check the full number if you do not recognise it.
Calling 0508 from a mobile
Freephone numbers are generally free from landlines, and most mobile plans treat them as free too, but a few do not. If you are unsure, check your plan or provider before you stay on a long call to a freephone number.
