855 numbers: who called me?
Free to call
855 numbers are toll-free in Canada and the United States. The business, not the caller, pays for the call.
What are 855 numbers?
855 is one of the toll-free prefixes (800, 833, 844, 855, 866, 877 and 888). They are free to call from most Canadian phones.
Banks, airlines, retailers and government agencies use toll-free numbers, but so do some scammers and telemarketers.
How to judge a toll-free call
Introduced after 800, 866, 877 and 888 numbers ran short, 855 appears in sales and support calls.
